Kathleen "Kathy" Janette Walker was born in San Diego Naval Hospital in California on September 12, 1952. She received her GED in Alaska while stationed there. She married Edward Frank Kelly September 7, 1973 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In that marriage they had a daughter, April Janette Kelly Born April 14, 1976 (bi-centineial baby). She was born in Tacoma Washington where they were stationed in the Air Force. Sumter South Carolina was their next duty station where they eventually divorced. April and Kathy them moved to California where they lived for 3 years. They then moved to Florida where she met her second husband Victor "Rick" Jule Heavilin. In 1988 they were married and Elizabeth Janette Kelly was born August 19, 1989. Rick passed away in Wisconsin April 12, 2005.

Kathy was diagnosed with AML leukemia February 14, 1997 and received a bone marrow transplant from her brother Dean in May 1997. She was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2003 and ended up with a colosotomy. She is now battling bladder problems from complications from her radiation treatments.

She and Elizabeth now live in Alexandria Minnesota.
